ANNOUNCING FPC’S HABITAT BUILD FOR 2019!

We are in need of volunteers to help FPC with building a new home for the  family of Morris Shabani and Maroy Chibalonza.

THE BUILD STARTS FEBRUARY 27TH!  Normally, Habitat builds don’t take place until late spring or early summer, but scheduling conflicts required it to be moved up, and that gives us less than a month to organize volunteers!

This year, we will partner with six other downtown churches, which are known by the acronym HEN, or “Holy Ecumenical Neighbors.”  These churches include: Second Presbyterian, Maxwell Street Presbyterian, Good Shepherd Episcopal, Christ Church Cathedral, Central Baptist Church, and Lexington Friends Meeting.  Construction will take place at 326 Nelson Avenue, just off E. Third Street near Midland Avenue.

If you are interested in participating in this very worthwhile project, a signup sheet, including a schedule of dates and number of volunteers needed, is available in the Assembly Room.  CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THE ONLINE VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION FORM.

We are grateful to Susan Buhrow for volunteering to organize efforts to meet the food needs of our Habitat builders!

For more information, please contact Labor Coordinator Mark West (864-230-5247) or Food Coordinator Susan Buhrow (859-327-8383).

Thank you!
