Be an Angel!
The Angel Tree is assembled and decorated in the Assembly Room! This year we are collecting gifts for: Greenhouse 17, KY Refugee Ministries and our partner school in Haiti, Centre Educatif Union des Coeurs.

How does it work?

  • Greenhouse 17: Select an angel (or angels) from the tree, buy the gift listed on the angel, and place the gift (with the angel attached) under the tree. If you choose to wrap the gift, please use gift bags (not gift wrap) so the Greenhouse 17 mothers may select the gift best suited for their child(ren). These gifts must be returned to the Angel Tree by Wednesday, December 20.
  • KY Refugee Ministries: Select an angel (or angels) from the tree, which will signify a family. The angel will include the number of children in that family. Purchase a $20 Kroger gift card for the family. For each child: about $25 in gifts, to include a warm outerwear item or two (hat gloves, scarf)/book/toy/game or other fun item. Angels will also include an address. Plan on delivering the gifts to the family by December 20.
  • Centre Educatif Union des Coeurs: These angels are for monetary donations to the school. Please make the check out to FPC and write Angel Tree-Haiti in the Memo Line. Return the angel with your donation. These angels are to be returned to the tree by December 25.

Silent Auction
Sunday, December 10 and 17.
Paul Burns, a local artist, recently completed a watercolor painting depicting a winter scene from Gratz Park, with First Presbyterian Church as the focal point. On Sunday, December 10 and 17, we will hold a silent auction for the original painting. Bidding will begin at $400 on Sunday, December 10 and end at 1:00 pm on Sunday, December 17. The artist will also have prints of various sizes and greeting cards on hand to purchase.

Christmas Joy Offering
Sunday, December 17, during the 8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Services.
Thanks to your generous support, church workers can receive assistance in their time of need, and students of Presbyterian-related racial ethnic schools and colleges are afforded opportunities to learn, grow, and lead in their faith. Giving to the Christmas Joy Offering is one way we can celebrate God’s greatest gift to us, Jesus Christ, as well as the gift of our church leaders – past, present, and future.

Special Offering – Webb’s Love Foundation
Sunday, December 24.
Webb’s Love Foundation was created by Matthew and Lindsey DeMoss, in memory of their son Joseph Webb DeMoss, who was born into the arms of angels on August 7, 2015. The overwhelming support and love shown for Webb serves as the mission for the foundation to raise awareness for infant loss and to support the families in our community who have suffered such a loss. To date, the foundation has helped to donate three Cuddle Cots to local hospitals. These Cuddle Cots allow families extended time with their infant in the privacy of their hospital room. It has provided 40 Molly Bears to Baptist Health Lexington. These bears are the exact weight that each baby measured at their time of birth. And currently, the foundation is in process of creating a grant to assist with burial costs for those in need. On Sunday, December 24, we will receive a special offering for Webb’s Love Foundation.
