Strictly speaking, the youth are the young people of our church in sixth through twelfth grades. Sixth through eighth grade youth are known as LOL (Live Out Loud). Appropriately named from James 2:14-26, the youth want to live their faith out loud through fellowship, mission, and Scripture study. Ninth through twelfth grade youth are called Youth Connection; a common identity, theology, and design for youth ministry across the PC(USA). LOL & Youth Connection can usually be found in their youth rooms, in the sanctuary’s balcony, or at the Café Citadelle counter.
What do we do?
At First Presbyterian Church, there are many activities in which the
youth are involved: mission trips, retreats, Trivia Night, LOL Winter Olympics, Canned Food Scavenger Hunts, youth groups, Just Lunch, Four-Square games, and much more. All are welcome! And of course, bring a friend!
Why do we do all this?
We believe that the life of the church involves all people of every
age. Every youth needs an extended family of Christian adults who can be a part of the cloud of witnesses that guide them to become faith-full adults.
