Presbyterian Women (PW) is an independent organization within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) of more than 300,000 women. The programming and resource options for the organization offer a variety of ways for women to live out their faith in an inclusive, caring community. For an extended history of the organization, click here.
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
– to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
– to support the mission of the church worldwide,
– to work for justice and peace,
– and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
First Presbyterian Church currently has five “circles” which are groups of women who learn, work and study together. For more information about how you can get involved in First Church’s faithful work, study and fellowship, email any of the 2016/17 Co-Moderators, Susan Combs ([email protected]), Susan Buhrow ([email protected]) and Marty Turner ([email protected]).
Horizons, the official publication of Presbyterian Women, is printed bimonthly as a magazine and each April as the Bible study. The primary resource for PW, it is filled with program ideas, information about the church and the world and inspiration. This year, PW is working their way through the book of Revelation.
